ALTEN Ltd is seeking a talented Software Engineer with LabVIEW experience to support the development of advanced electric propulsion technology for next-generation fully electric aircraft. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting‑edge engineering programme, combining front‑end and back‑end development with real‑world applications in a highly innovative and fast‑paced environment focused on sustainable aviation.

Location: Bicester

On Site: Hybrid (3 days on site)

Clearance: Clearable

Experience Level: Junior to mid (2‑3 years)

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using LabVIEW and other programming tools
  • Contribute to both front‑end (UI/UX interfaces) and back‑end (core system logic, data processing) development
  • Support the design and development of software architecture
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware, systems, and test engineers
  • Develop test rigs, data acquisition systems, and automation tools
  • Ensure code quality through testing, validation, and documentation
  • Support integration and testing activities within a structured engineering environment
Qualifications Required Skills
  • Proven experience with LabVIEW (essential)
  • Strong background in software engineering principles
  • Experience in both front‑end and back‑end development
  • Knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar is a plus
