As an EMC Test Engineer, you will join our team in Portsmouth to support our activities within the Space sector. You will support the testing and validation of electronic systems to ensure compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements within a high-reliability engineering environment. Working within a laboratory setting, you will carry out low voltage DC testing and support verification activities on RF and electronic hardware to ensure systems meet strict performance and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform EMC and electrical testing on electronic and RF hardware systems
  • Conduct low voltage DC testing as part of verification and validation activities
  • Execute structured test procedures and accurately record test results
  • Support fault finding and troubleshooting during EMC and electrical test campaigns
  • Use laboratory test equipment to verify system performance against engineering requirements
  • Produce clear technical reports and maintain traceable test documentation
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with programme standards

Qualifications Required Skills:

  • Experience performing low voltage DC testing on electronic systems
  • Understanding of EMC testing principles or electromagnetic compatibility requirements
  • Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to follow detailed test procedures and technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience working within aerospace, space, defence, or electronics testing environments
  • Experience supporting EMC test campaigns for electronic systems
  • Experience working with RF or communications equipment
  • Familiarity with regulated engineering environments and compliance standards
