As a Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you will join our Gillingham team to support our activities within the aerospace engineering sector. You will support the development, analysis, and validation of hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic components used in advanced aerospace applications. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will be involved in system performance analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and the evaluation of hydraulic equipment to ensure compliance with technical and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, analysis, and development of hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic components
- Conduct performance assessments of hydraulic systems and solenoid valve assemblies
- Analyse and interpret test data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities
- Support system testing, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations
- Develop engineering calculations and analytical models to support design decisions
- Collaborate with design, systems, and test teams to ensure successful product development and integration
- Generate technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders
Qualifications Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of solenoid valves and electro-hydraulic components
- Mechanical engineering background with experience of hydraulic systems
- Experience in data processing, interpretation, and engineering analysis
- Proficiency with MATLAB and Mathcad
- Ability to support testing, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation activities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems in an engineering environment
- Knowledge of engineering analysis methodologies and system validation activities
- Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of hydraulic actuation systems and control technologies
- Familiarity with requirements verification and validation processes
- Experience using simulation or modelling tools to support hydraulic system development
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and product development lifecycles
