Job Description
Are you a Junior Electronics Engineer with 2-4 years\’ experience in PCB design, sensor integration, and CAD modelling of electromechanical systems? At ALTEN UK, you\’ll play a key role in supporting a fuel pump Hall Effect sensor project for a major aerospace client, contributing to both the functional and physical design of complex motor and sensing systems.
This is your opportunity to work in a highly secure, real-world defence environment, gaining exposure to Hall Effect sensors, magnetic field analysis, and rotating component design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review functional requirements and support the design of Hall Effect sensor systems
- Contribute to magnetic field analysis using tools like MotorCAD or Maxwell
- Design and layout PCBs for sensor integration
- Produce CAD models and technical drawings for rotor and stator components
- Support integration with fuel pump housings (Demo MFPU)
- Assist in sourcing components and engaging with suppliers in line with MOD protocols
Qualifications
Key Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years\’ experience in electronics or electromechanical engineering
- Strong PCB design experience (Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, etc.)
- Confident creating mechanical CAD models (e.g. SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)
- Knowledge of Hall sensors, signal conditioning, or sensor integration
- Understanding of rotating machines, motors, or actuator systems
- Must be a British Citizen
- Able to work on-site in Derby (hybrid working available)
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with magnetic simulation or field modelling tools
- Previous experience in a defence or aerospace setting
- Understanding of MOD component sourcing and quality/security standards
