As a Project Engineer, you will join our Cardiff team to support our activities within the food and beverage manufacturing sector. You will play a key role in supporting the implementation and commissioning of facility and process improvement projects within a large-scale manufacturing environment. This role is focused on coordination, communication, and project delivery, ensuring contractors, stakeholders, and site teams work effectively together throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through to go-live.

Location: Cardiff

On Site: hybrid (2-3 days on site)

Clearance: Clearable

Experience Level: Mid-Level (3-9 YOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the delivery of site-based engineering and facility improvement projects
  • Oversee the implementation and commissioning of new process and piping systems
  • Manage day-to-day communication between contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project schedules, risks, issues, and actions to ensure successful delivery
  • Support project ramp-up and ramp-down activities throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Ensure all activities are completed safely and in accordance with site standards and procedures
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
  • Support go-live activities and ensure a smooth transition into operational use
  • Review contractor performance and ensure deliverables align with project requirements

Required Skills:

  • Strong project engineering or project management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and workstreams simultaneously
  • Understanding of process industries and facility-based engineering projects
  • Experience supporting commissioning and implementation activities
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working on-site and engaging with operational teams daily

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience delivering projects within manufacturing, production, food and beverage, brewing, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating contractors and project stakeholders
  • Experience supporting project delivery through implementation and operational handover

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of brewing or beverage production processes
  • Experience commissioning new piping systems or process equipment
  • Familiarity with Siemens-controlled manufacturing environments
  • Understanding of FDA, EMA, or EFSA-regulated environments
  • Experience working within food and beverage, FMCG, or process manufacturing industries
  • Knowledge of commissioning, validation, and operational readiness activities
