Job Description

As a Civil Engineering Technical Lead, you will provide technical expertise and oversight for complex civil engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and key stakeholders, you will ensure that engineering studies, technical specifications, and design deliverables meet the required quality, safety, and compliance standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a nationally significant project while contributing to the development of engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical support on building-specific and civil engineering design matters.
  • Produce, review, and assess technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in technical meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the review of technical specifications and engineering studies.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are compliant with applicable standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Contribute to the capture and implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
  • Contract & Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure technical specifications and contractual requirements are understood and followed by suppliers and contractors.
  • Lead and manage technical surveillance activities.
  • Develop surveillance programmes and prepare associated reports.
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical queries raised by contractors.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of contract management tools and processes.
  • Lead technical discussions, clarifications, and interfaces with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and project partners.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the project.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in civil engineering design and/or delivery on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience reviewing technical specifications, studies, and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and complex project environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in

Engineering , or equivalent military experience .

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within the nuclear, energy, defence, rail, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Knowledge of contractor management and technical surveillance processes.
  • Understanding of quality assurance, governance, and compliance requirements within major projects.
