Job Description
Are you a Mechanical Engineer with experience in highly regulated industries looking to move beyond pure design engineering?
We're seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements on a major engineering programme.
This is a technically focused coordination role, acting as the link between engineering teams, suppliers, regulators, and project stakeholders to ensure pressure equipment remains compliant throughout its lifecycle.
You'll be responsible for coordinating compliance activities, managing technical queries, and ensuring pressure systems and structural integrity requirements are delivered in line with applicable codes, standards, and safety case requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and maintenance of pressure systems compliance requirements across major projects.
- Coordinating technical activities to ensure pressure equipment remains compliant with relevant regulations and engineering standards.
- Managing interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Supporting structural integrity and pressure systems safety case requirements.
- Reviewing and coordinating technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
- Managing technical queries and compliance-related actions through to resolution.
- Supporting contract delivery and ensuring suppliers meet project requirements.
- Monitoring compliance activities and escalating risks where required.
- Working closely with subject matter experts to ensure industry codes and standards are correctly applied.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
- Experience working on large-scale engineering projects or complex industrial assets.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Defence or Aerospace.
- Understanding of pressure systems, mechanical equipment, or asset integrity.
- Ability to coordinate multiple technical activities simultaneously.
