As a Project Manager, you will join our Birmingham team to support our activities within the Energy sector. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a complex and technically demanding water infrastructure programme. You’ll take a lead role in planning, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with NEC contract requirements. Working within a regulated environment, you’ll drive programme performance, manage risk, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the client, supply chain, and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the planning and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design through to construction and commissioning
- Managing projects under NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4), including early warning processes, compensation events, and programme updates
- Developing, maintaining, and controlling integrated project programmes in collaboration with planners and delivery teams
- Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and change control
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements (e.g. CDM, water industry standards)
- Reporting progress, cost, risk, and programme performance to senior stakeholders through structured governance and dashboards
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the UK water industry, delivering capital infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, including commercial and contractual management
- Experience managing complex engineering projects in regulated environments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, planners, and contractors
- Strong planning, risk management, and reporting capability
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management or equivalent military experience
- Project Management certification (APM PMQ, Prince2, PMP or Agile PM)
Desirable Skills:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent experience) – highly desirable
- Experience applying Lean / Six Sigma techniques (Black Belt preferred)
- Experience working with NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
