Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site team working on advanced maritime lighting systems for submarines. This role is part of a high-profile project in delivering cutting-edge solutions for naval platforms. You will contribute to the design, development, and refinement of mechanical components, ensuring high standards of functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine mechanical designs for submarine lighting systems.
- Produce accurate technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and systems integrators.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components.
- Ensure designs meet stringent naval and safety standards.
- Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to optimise component production.
Qualifications Required Skills:
- 5–10 years' experience in mechanical design.
- Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, ideally for maritime applications.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or equivalent).
- Experience creating production-ready technical drawings and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively on high-profile projects.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience working on naval or submarine platforms.
- Exposure to lighting systems, electro-mechanical integration, or defence projects.
- Experience working on-site within a project delivery team.
