Job Description ALTEN UK is seeking an Electronics Engineer with expertise in EMI/EMC compliance to join our team supporting leading Aerospace client in Wolverhampton. This is a high-impact role contributing to the design of mission-critical hardware operating in harsh environments. What you’ll be doing: Designing analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, with a focus on low noise, radiation tolerance, and temperature extremes. Developing DC-DC converters, motor drives, and power distribution units. Implementing EMI/EMC mitigation strategies across PCB and system level, aligned with DO-160 and MIL-STD-461G. Leading pre-compliance and compliance testing, including radiated/conducted emissions & susceptibility. Supporting system-level grounding, shielding, filtering, and bonding. Performing root cause analysis and corrective action on test failures. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware, PCB layout, systems, and mechanical engineers. Qualifications What we’re looking for: Strong background in EMC within Aerospace. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum analyzers, and electronics testing (thermal/ambient). Familiarity with SPICE, Altium, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink. Working knowledge of DO-254, DO-160, and aerospace-grade PCB design standards. Experience designing for redundancy, fault tolerance, and reliability (FMEA). Confident working in a formally documented environment (requirements traceability, config/change control).
