As a Verification & Validation Engineer, you will join the Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector. You will play a key role in delivering confidence to some of the most highly regulated, safety-critical systems in the UK. This is your chance to influence the reliability of groundbreaking nuclear technology—where proving a product works is just as important as designing it in the first place.
Role Details- Location: Derby
- On Site: 2 times per week
- Clearance: BPSS
- Experience Level: 1-10 YOE
- Developing smart, robust V&V strategies and plans—from requirements to final validation.
- Carrying out or reviewing verification activities like analysis, inspections, and tests.
- Reviewing technical evidence to assess compliance with system requirements.
- Working closely with design teams to make sure systems meet the safety and performance needs of a regulated environment.
- Applying your engineering know-how to safety-critical hardware, from mechanical systems to HVAC and beyond.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills—you’ll be reviewing and reporting on critical evidence.
- Familiarity with codes such as ASME, ACI, ASCE, ANSI, and British/European Standards.
- Experience with Verification & Validation.
- Able to think critically and work independently.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical industries.
- Knowledge of ONR safety principles, INPO guidance, or similar regulatory frameworks.
