Job Description
Are you a System Integration and Verification Engineer looking for an exciting challenge where you can work on cutting-edge Virtual Reality systems within the defence sector? At ALTEN, we are offering a unique opportunity to work on a critical project that simulates real-world scenarios, helping to train the next generation of engineers in the Royal Navy . You’ll be leading the integration of complex software and hardware systems, ensuring they work seamlessly together to mimic real-world operations, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this ground-breaking simulator.
Key Details:
- Location: Hybrid role based in Crawley , with the flexibility to work remotely.
- Security Clearance: Candidates must be SC clearable and a sole UK National (UKEO)
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate software onto a virtual reality hardware platform , ensuring all components are aligned with system requirements.
- Create and maintain system design documentation (including VCRI ) to ensure compliance with customer needs.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate system performance and ensure quality standards.
- Derive and document customer requirements , ensuring that all objectives are clearly defined and met.
- Develop user guides and training guides to support end users and operators of the system.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders for full life-cycle testing , including test case writing, regression testing, and acceptance phases.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering , particularly within software and hardware integration .
- Experience with tools such as DOORS for requirements management.
- Proven experience in VR hardware/software integration , preferably within defence or electronic warfare domains.
- Experience in FAT/SAT testing and creating system design documentation (e.g., VCRI).
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Palma and Jira for task tracking is a bonus.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science , or a related field, or equivalent technical military experience .
