As an Electrical AIT engineer you will join our team in Stevenage to support our activities within the Space sector. You will support AIT activities, working on the assembly, integration, and test of complex aerospace systems. The programme requires close collaboration between mechanical and electrical teams, operating in a secure environment with opportunities for travel depending on project need.

Experience Level: Technician to Engineer level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities on aerospace systems
  • Support mechanical and electrical installation, integration, and testing tasks
  • Provide hands‑on support to shop floor operations, ensuring build and test activities run efficiently
  • Electrical Engineers to support technicians and testing activities, including fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Shift Lead to oversee day‑to‑day shop floor activities, coordinating technicians and ensuring task delivery

Qualifications Required Skills:

  • Experience in AIT environments within aerospace or space programmes
  • Electrical background with hands‑on integration and test experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a secure, regulated engineering environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills across shop floor and engineering teams

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience. Alternatively, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience for technician‑level roles.
  • Proven experience supporting assembly, integration, and test activities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in space or satellite programmes.
  • Previous experience as a shop floor / shift lead.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support programme activities.
