What will you be doing? We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to support mid-stage development activities within a model-based V-Cycle environment. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and validating control models for embedded applications using MATLAB/Simulink.
Location: Peterborough
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Developing and implementing control algorithms and models for embedded systems
- Conducting MiL, SiL, and HiL testing to evaluate system behaviour and ensure functional robustness
- Generating embedded code using Simulink-based toolchains and ensuring quality and traceability
- Integrating control models into larger system architectures and supporting cross-functional delivery
- Supporting validation, calibration, and system-level integration
- Performing requirements analysis and ensuring control models align with system-level specifications
- Maintaining accurate documentation, test reports, and model release notes
- Ensuring adherence to development processes, quality standards, and safety considerations

Qualifications Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Degree in Control Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent industry experience
- Hands‑on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control model development
- Demonstrated history of implementing control logic for embedded systems
- Practical experience with MiL/SiL/HiL testing methodologies
- Familiarity with model integration, embedded code generation, and system validation workflows
This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected. Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
