As a Quality Engineer, you will support activities within the Aerospace sector, ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System.

Location: Newport

On Site: 2-3 days per week

Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required

Experience Level: Mid - Senior

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate regulatory approvals with aviation authorities (e.g. CAA)
  • Ensure compliance with PART 21J and ISO standards
  • Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies and auditors
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage non‑conformities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Lead preparation and support for audits and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure robust processes across returns, concessions, and non‑compliant components
  • Support operational teams in maintaining quality and regulatory standards

Qualifications Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in quality and regulatory compliance within aerospace or aviation
  • Working knowledge of PART 21J, CAA regulations, and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Experience managing audits, approvals, and external regulatory interfaces
  • Proven ability to manage non‑conformities and corrective action processes
  • Strong understanding of QMS and continuous improvement methodologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
  • Experience working in a regulated aerospace or safety‑critical environment
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, compliance, or certification roles

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working within a PART 21J Design Organisation
  • Familiarity with EASA/CAA certification processes
  • Exposure to aerospace manufacturing or MRO environments
  • Knowledge of configuration control and documentation standards
