Due to ongoing expansion, ALTEN Ltd is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Defence Business - hybrid set up, mix of client onsite/office/remote. Your new role: Within Technical Direction, the Senior Project Manager will manage a team of Engineers responsible for the execution and delivery of client projects. In detail, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Project Management
- Responsible for the QCD (Quality-Costs-Deadline), estimating execution loads and activities, while managing the competencies assigned to the projects.
- Supervising the projects team, monitoring progress, and participating in team evaluation.
- Managing project risks.
- Leading the follow-up committees with the customer.
- Monitoring KPIs, performing projects’ financial monitoring, and presenting regular internal reporting to the Project Director.
- Contributing to the productivity and profitability improvement of an ongoing project(s) by applying ALTEN processes, methods, and tools.
- Enforcing the behavioural rules in terms of quality, health, safety, and environment defined by the Group and requested by the related customer.
- Contributing to answering new RFQ (Request for Quotation) on the technical offer, scoping, sizing activity, and support to costing.
- Following up on functional analysis and controlling customer requirements.
- Team Management
- Forecasting and coordinating the workload of your team, ensuring that your team is correctly sized to handle the amount of work and that the work is distributed efficiently across your team and well-matched to their skills.
- Defining the future makeup of your team, and the skills needed within it. Working with Business Managers and Recruiters to select the right people for your projects at the right time.
- Integrating new team members and managing the skills and capability of the team to ensure that your team is able to deliver the right level of quality to our clients.
- Leading your teams by example, setting clear expectations and upholding the high standards required by ALTEN and its clients when it comes to team behaviours and attitudes towards quality, health, safety, and environment.
Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate possesses passion and curiosity for the Engineering sector, with a result-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset, and is comfortable working in an international and fast-paced environment.
Experience required:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Delivery lead, Technical Lead, Senior Project Engineer, or Integrated Project Lead in the Defence industry.
- Technical Project Management background: estimation, project planning, risk management, and budget management.
- Prior experience in System and Software Engineering in DEFENCE is required.
- Must have a system engineering background.
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and leading teams, and managing autonomously relevant projects, being a key factor in client meetings.
- Experience working independently, being result-oriented, having an entrepreneurial mindset, and strong communication and interpersonal skills in stakeholder management and natural leadership.
