As a Design & Release Engineer, you will be joining our Coventry-based team to support delivery within the Automotive domain. In this role, you will be responsible for the specification, planning, validation, and cross-functional coordination of Thermal Interface Material commodities to meet product performance, timing, and quality objectives across customer vehicle programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Defining technical requirements and authoring associated test plans for Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs).
- Planning and coordinating commodity deliverables in alignment with Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation and Delivery System (PCDS) principles.
- Leading delivery of technical solutions through cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Managing documentation and technical gateways to support programme milestones.
- Communicating with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategy, risks, and progress.
- Supporting component design activities including functional analysis, DFMEA, and critical characteristic identification.
- Implementing structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why) to resolve engineering issues.
- Strategically developing the commodity roadmap and contributing to long-term product strategy.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Proven technical knowledge of Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs).
- Experience generating technical specifications and validation/test documentation.
- Experience coordinating product delivery using PCDS or equivalent engineering processes.
- Experience delivering engineering commodities within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all organisational levels.
- Ability to lead technical activity through cross-functional teams.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; adaptability to systems such as WERS, AIMS, RMDV, and ECRs is advantageous.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to influence commodity direction.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of charging system requirements, interfaces, and stakeholders.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering teams with exposure to system validation.
- Experience with tools such as 3DExperience (CATIA V6, Commodity Plan, EBER), Reliasoft, DOORS, or RMDV.
