Job Description
ALTEN UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – Cabling & Contract Delivery to lead the electrical, cabling, and cabinet scope for a major engineering programme. This hybrid role (3 days in office) is based in Bristol.
Responsibilities
- Act as the client entry point for all cables, cabinets, and lightning protection scope.
- Review supplier documentation and coordinate structured technical feedback with engineering stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues across the client–supplier interface.
- Manage supplier performance across scope, schedule, technical compliance, and quality.
- Lead structured comment sheets and oversee clarification cycles with suppliers.
- Control risks, opportunities, interfaces, and technical open points across the contract.
- Manage technical changes through CTS workflows, ensuring the client is fully informed.
- Track Delivery To Site (DTS) dates and ensure timely equipment delivery.

Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Experience producing or reviewing cabling or cabinet design documentation.
- Strong understanding of electrical cable products, specification requirements, and routing considerations.
- Proven experience managing client and supplier interfaces on complex engineering projects.
- Ability to manage risks, opportunities, interfaces, and technical change processes.
- Experience using structured comment tools, technical workflows, and engineering review processes.
- Knowledge of RCC-E or related standards (e.g., NFC15-100, BS7671).
Desirable
- Experience in highly regulated or safety‑critical industries.
- Understanding of equipment qualification, cabling installation, or electrical contract delivery.
- Familiarity with cabinet integration, protection systems, or lightning protection arrangements.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary engineering environments.
