As an EC&I Engineer, you will join a team in Warrington to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector. We are looking for engineers with a strong background in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering, with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining systems across industrial or high‑tech environments. These engineers should be familiar with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high‑level requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC 61513, IEC 61227, and IEC 61508.
  • Create detailed designs for electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
  • Collaborate with vendors to source and manage equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Proficient in design and simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, EPLAN)
  • Knowledge of grid codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks

Required Qualifications

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation engineering
  • Experience working on industrial or safety‑critical projects
  • PLC programming and fault‑finding (Siemens, Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley, Schneider)
  • SCADA / HMI development and commissioning
  • Control panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Instrumentation selection, calibration and loop checking
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
  • Understanding of control systems and PID loops
  • Experience with low voltage electrical systems.
  • Exposure to hazardous or regulated environments (defence, energy, oil & gas, nuclear)
  • Site commissioning and testing experience
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
