Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quality Engineer to support the development, implementation, and oversight of quality arrangements across the HPC programme.

This role is ideal for experienced quality professionals who want to work at the heart of a major nuclear project, ensuring that quality assurance and quality control requirements are consistently applied across the full project lifecycle.

In this role, you will support the deployment of QA/QC processes, assist with manufacturing surveillance, manage NCRs, and contribute to quality reporting and metrics.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with engineering, project delivery, and supply chain teams to ensure robust, compliant, and high‑performing quality outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior‑level Quality Engineer looking to progress toward a Quality Manager or Quality Lead position.

Key Information

  • Location: Bridgewater Sommerset
  • On Site: 5 days
  • Clearance: BPSS
  • Experience Level: 5–10 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of QA/QC arrangements for deployment across the HPC organisation.
  • Implement key quality processes including PQCPs, CQAPs, and associated governance.
  • Assist with PQCP and CQAP development, ensuring alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Support manufacturing surveillance and inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and nuclear safety standards.
  • Assist with NCR management and close‑out, ensuring timely resolution and effective corrective actions.
  • Support quality reporting and metrics, contributing to programme‑wide visibility of quality performance.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in project delivery within the nuclear power sector.
  • Solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proven experience working on HPC or similar large‑scale nuclear programmes.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear quality assurance, compliance, and governance.
  • Experience interfacing with project teams and supply chain organisations.
  • Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and make informed recommendations.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently with strong organisational discipline.
  • Native‑level English communication skills.
  • Senior‑level experience as a Quality Engineer, with ambition to progress into a Quality Manager/Lead role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (IRCA or equivalent).
  • NEC3 accreditation (Supervisor or PM training).

Desirable Skills

  • Membership of CQI (Practitioner or Chartered).
  • NDT/Welding inspection (CSWIP/PCN).
