We are recruiting a Battery Test & Validation Engineer to support the development of next-generation electric vehicle (EV) battery systems. This role focuses on the design verification (DV) and validation of battery packs, playing a key part in a major electrification programme across advanced vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Execution
- Create detailed test instructions based on engineering and customer requirements
- Coordinate testing with internal and external test facilities
- Ensure validation activities meet defined standards and targets
- Battery Validation & Fault Finding
- Analyse battery test data to assess performance and validate requirements
- Identify faults and non-compliance, supporting root cause investigation
- Recommend corrective actions
- Pack Build & Logistics
- Support battery build activities, including instrumentation and deviations
- Oversee builds to ensure configurations are correctly implemented
- Manage shipment and logistics of battery units to test sites
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Interpret test results and confirm pass/fail against validation criteria
- Produce technical reports (Level 1 & Level 2)
- Present findings to internal engineering teams
- Test Support Activities
- Coordinate battery tear-downs for investigation or repair
- Support continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Experience in test/validation engineering
- Background in automotive and/or battery systems (EV preferred)
- Experience with test planning, execution, and data analysis
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams
- Good communication and reporting skills
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to battery testing or HV systems
- Experience in EV validation or electrified powertrain projects
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, Python)
- Understanding of vehicle development or validation processes
