One of Manchester's success stories is growing their infrastructure team and looking for an Infrastructure-focused Database Engineer. You will support a cloud-based, mission‑critical data platform used across a fast-growing FinTech environment. The focus of this role is performance, reliability and operational excellence across PostgreSQL & SQL systems hosted in GCP.

What you will be doing:

  • Investigate and resolve query and system performance issues
  • Support incident resolution and production stability
  • Support schema changes and database deployments
  • Improve database design and reduce technical debt
  • Support CloudSQL environments in GCP
  • Assist with monitoring, automation and operational tooling
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, backup and recovery processes
  • Support data movement into BigQuery
  • Work with Dataflow / Datastream pipelines
