Alteam partners with founders to build the teams that get them to product-market fit.
We're hiring on behalf of a VC-backed LLM startup — founded by a serial entrepreneur and a leading AI researcher.
Their first product analyses production agent workflows and gives enterprises the evidence to replace expensive LLM-based calls safely with cheaper alternatives.
Why now
They're pre-product-market-fit, funded, and ready to hand product decisions to one person.
For your first three months, you drive strategy with the founders as final decision-makers while you build context.
After that, roadmap, scope and priorities are yours.
Founders keep commercial strategy and scientific direction.
Growth path toward Head of Product / CPO as the company scales.
What you decide is what gets built — and you'll watch it land with real enterprise customers within weeks.
The role
Reporting to the CEO, you own product strategy: what gets built, changed or stopped.
- Own the roadmap and be accountable for the outcomes.
- Talk to customers directly; turn insight into testable hypotheses.
- Run the cadence between Product, Science and Engineering — priorities clear, decisions made, work closed.
- Prototype fast, then ship validated ideas with Engineering.
What we're looking for
- Several years in product with real 0→1 experience — founding PM, early-stage lead, ex-founder, or technical consultant who owned what got built.
- Deep AI fluency: LLM APIs, agentic systems, evaluation, traces, production failure modes.
You hold the room with Science and Engineering.
Formal AI education is a bonus; lived experience with agentic AI matters more.
- Hands-on customer discovery or user research.
- Product-first, with hands-on prototyping (e. g. Python) a strong plus.
- Comfortable taking ambiguous problems to evidence-backed decisions without needing consensus on every call.
- Enterprise AI deployment, evaluation or observability experience is a plus.
You listen before proposing solutions, and you change your mind when the evidence changes. You want real authority — and you're comfortable owning the failures as well as the wins.
Apply through Alteam, and we'll tell you exactly who they are.
For a successful application, we recommend a short cover letter (we can tell if you used AI), sharing your portfolio, and including practical use cases.
It's a very competitive role; you need to stand out!

How to prepare for a job interview at alteam
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If alteam uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
