Altair’s Transformation and Change team is looking for a Consultant to join their dynamic team, working at the heart of transformation and change initiatives that make a difference in socially focused sectors.
About the role
As a Consultant, you’ll be a key player in shaping and delivering client solutions — leading workstreams, producing substantial analysis, drafting reports, and managing client relationships. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to the development of our business and service offerings. Whilst our team at Altair support a range of clients across socially focused sectors, we are particularly keen to hear from applicants with a background in social housing.
Location:Homebased, with travel to clients and offices
Job type:Full-time, Permanent
Salary:£44-54k depending on experience
What you’ll do:
Client Projects & Delivery
- Lead or contribute to delivery of high-quality, ‘client-ready’ work
- Understand client needs and communicate effectively
- Translate complex data into clear insights to support impactful recommendations
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders
- Act as a primary contact point for clients, managing expectations and project timelines
- Apply a range of project management and analysis tools to solve client challenges
Business & Practice Development
- Support proposal writing, pitches, and marketing initiatives
- Research markets, identify opportunities, and help shape new service offerings
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and practice development
What we’re looking for:
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within the social housing sector (preferably in a Housing Association, ALMO or Local Authority landlord) either in an operational or strategic role (essential)
- Good knowledge of the social housing sector, the current challenges faced and knowledge of the regulatory environment in which social housing operates (desirable)
- A qualification in Business Analysis, Change/Project Management, or Process Improvement (essential)
- Project-based experience in transformation/change, ideally within a socially focussed area (essential)
- Experience in change management/implementation, service design, or continuous improvement (desirable)
Skills
- Strong analytical and data presentation skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to produce clear, concise, and compelling reports and proposals
- Comfortable managing time, tasks, and small projects independently
