Altair's Digital, Data and Technology (DDT) team advises social housing providers, local authorities, and care and support organisations on digital and technology strategy, systems selection and implementation, data, cyber security, and technology-enabled change. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to lead systems selection, procurement and technology change projects for clients across the UK.
Experience in social housing or local government is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with technology, consultancy or supplier backgrounds.
As a client-facing consultancy, flexibility in working patterns and location will occasionally be required to meet client and business needs, including travel and at times work outside of normal hours.
As a Senior Consultant you will work with clients to understand their business needs, improve processes and select the technology solutions that best support their objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead systems selection and procurement: Guide clients through discovery, requirements gathering, market appraisal, options analysis and procurement.
- Improve business processes: Map existing processes, design future-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement before new systems are implemented.
- Define business requirements: Develop clear, prioritised, testable and supplier-neutral specifications for core systems, including housing management, asset management, repairs, CRM, finance, HR and payroll.
- Support procurement and supplier evaluation: Develop procurement documentation and evaluation criteria, facilitate supplier demonstrations, manage clarifications and support evaluation through to award.
- Deliver successful projects: Lead engagements and workstreams, managing scope, budgets, timescales, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Engage and influence stakeholders: Facilitate workshops, present findings and communicate complex technical matters clearly to senior leaders, frontline teams and elected members.
- Support business development: Develop proposals, contribute to client pitches, identify opportunities for follow-on work and build lasting client relationships.
- Develop others and improve practice: Mentor colleagues, review and quality-assure deliverables, and develop reusable tools, templates and methodologies. xgikmsk
- Maintain market expertise: Keep up to date with technology suppliers, public sector procurement routes and relevant market developments, providing independent, objective advice.
