Join the MAD Team – Marketing Manager £30,000–£35,000 per annum (actual) + generous bonus · 3 days per week · Soho, London
ALTA and MOI are two of Soho’s most exciting restaurants — both Michelin Guide listed within a year of opening, both with a loyal following, and both doing something genuinely creative with food and drink. Together they form the foundation of MAD, an ambitious and growing restaurant group with quality and originality at its heart. This is the first dedicated marketing role in the MAD portfolio. You’ll be the person who gives these two remarkable venues the marketing strategy and creative direction they deserve — working part-time now, with a clear path to full-time as the group expands.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Marketing Manager to own strategy and lead creative delivery across ALTA, MOI, and our Listening Room events programme. Reporting directly to the Head of Restaurants, you’ll work alongside our Sales Manager and Social Media Manager, and collaborate closely with General Managers, Head Chefs and Beverage Managers to bring the progressive, chef‑led spirit of MAD to life in the market. This is an in‑house role — we want someone truly embedded in what we do, who understands the venues, knows the guests, and makes every marketing decision with that knowledge behind it.
Perks & Benefits
- Up to 50% staff dining discount across MOI and ALTA
- Extra holidays that kick in after 2 years — 1 additional day per year completed, up to 33 days maximum
- Cycle to work scheme — save on a new bike or Lime / Forest bike subscription
- Fantastic supplier trips and industry training
- Referral bonus — £250 for hourly staff referrals, £500 for salaried
- Wellness, mental health and healthcare perks
- Delicious meals provided on shift
- Real opportunities for growth and professional development within an expanding restaurant group
What We’re Looking For
- In‑house restaurant marketing experience is essential. You’ll have worked inside a restaurant or hospitality group — not just in agency or brand‑side roles — and you’ll understand the rhythms, pace and commercial realities that come with it
- A proven track record of creating and delivering marketing strategy — not just executing someone else’s plan, but building one from scratch and seeing it through
- Strong creative instincts — you can spot a good story, you know how to tell it, and you care deeply about quality
- Commercially sharp, with a clear understanding of how marketing connects to covers, bookings and revenue
- Comfortable working across multiple brands with different personalities, keeping each distinct while building a coherent group identity
- A confident collaborator — equally at home with chefs, GMs, beverage managers, and senior leadership
- Entrepreneurial and self‑directed — energised by being the first marketing hire in a growing group
- A genuine love of food and drink — the kind of person who finds the menu as interesting as the brief
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Creative Direction - Build and own the marketing strategy for ALTA, Moi and the Listening Room, with a clear commercial focus on what drives covers, bookings and revenue. Lead the creative implementation of that strategy: campaigns, content, press, events and partnerships — making things happen, not just planning them. Help define whether the Listening Room warrants its own standalone brand identity — and lead that work if it does.
- Collaboration - Work alongside the Head of Restaurants to align marketing with operational and commercial priorities across the group. Partner with the Sales Manager on commercial and events opportunities. Work with the Social Media Manager to ensure creative consistency and strategic direction across all channels. Collaborate directly with Head Chefs and Beverage Managers to translate culinary and drinks creativity into compelling audience‑facing stories.
- Brand & Communications - Manage the distinct voice and identity of each venue while maintaining a coherent MAD group presence. Oversee press and PR relationships, ensuring ALTA and MOI are consistently well represented in the media. Represent MAD at relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
