- Hold NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience, or willingness to work towards it.
- Have Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 2 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework.
- Complete the Department for Education Teacher Assistant Induction Programme (or complete within the first term).
- Be aware of the requirements of children with special educational needs.
- Have experience of working with learning resources and helping with their preparation to support learning programmes.
- Have experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school (including 2-year-old provision).
- Possess communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers.
