Your future role
As the Train Electrical Metier Manager (TEMM), you will report to the Site Engineering Director and manage Train Electrical (TE) development and activities in line with Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) commitments for the assigned projects and programmes at the Site(s). You will ensure the deployment and adherence to Alstom Transport’s Quality Management System and the associated Engineering instructions across the Site(s). You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the Train Electrical métier, working closely with the Central Engineering TE team.
We’ll look to you for:
- Implements an effective organisation to ensure proper management of Train Electrical activities for tenders, projects, and programmes under the responsibility of the site (or multiple sites, depending on the TDS organisation), in line with applicable TE instructions and processes.
- Ensures robust follow-up of QCD commitments for TE work packages across the site(s).
- Supports the TE team in resolving issues—particularly those involving internal or external stakeholders—and contributes to the definition and prioritisation of actions.
- Ensures design reviews are properly prepared, documented, and delivered in accordance with the project or programme schedule, and follows up on key open actions.
- Manages the development of the site TE team, ensuring alignment between capacity, workload, and skills, with the support of the N+1.
- Ensures adequate TE resources are assigned to the projects, programmes, and tenders allocated to the site(s).
- Manages site workload forecasting based on assumptions provided by the workload manager, identifying the resources required to secure project QCD commitments.
- Ensures Alstom Engineering rules and processes are understood, applied, and respected.
- Reports on the progress of site TE activities and alerts the N+1 in case of issues that could impact the achievement of QCD commitments.
- Acts as a proactive contributor to the improvement of Train Electrical métier rules, in close collaboration with the Central Train Electrical Engineering team.
- Contributes actively to the Central Engineering TE network.
- Provides a proactive and challenging view of Train Electrical studies performed at the site(s), enhancing adequacy, consistency, and compliance with applicable instructions and guidelines.
All About You
- Degree in Electronics, Electrotechnical Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in the electrical domain within the railway industry or similar.
- Strong engineering background in electrical components and products, including development activities, wiring, and train electrical architectures, systems, and functions.
- Experience using industry-standard digital tools for the development of electrical products.
- Demonstrated experience in managing engineering or multidisciplinary teams.
