Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your materials expertise in a new cutting‑edge field. As Fire Safety Engineer, you'll manage Fire Safety analysis & documents in accordance with Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) commitments. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to apply the Rolling Stock & Components (RSC) and Transport processes & instructions, participate in project/offer development through the application of Engineering Instructions (EI), guidelines and established internal processes of the Fire Safety domain and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Participate in tender (client clause by clause; deliverables definition), project execution (calculations, specification, conception support for organic and functional performance of the train) and validation (involvement in train level type test during realisation phase).
  • Collecting and deriving Fire Safety requirements and providing the related Transverse Requirements Specification (TRS).
  • Preparing and participating in a Design review for Fire Safety.
  • Contribute to relevant Core Competency Network (CCN) (internal referential continuous improvement and R&D activities).
  • Checking Design conformity to TRS and EI during design reviews and all along the design (upon request).
  • Collecting REX (Return on Experience from previous projects) and providing to CCN (for capitalisation and translation into rules).
  • At the project execution stage, deliver Fire Safety analysis (Fire Safety Report, Fire & Smoke Report, BDI approvals, PV monitoring…) compliant with QCD work packages commitments.
  • Mobilise and manage the team to get Customer, 3rd party approvals on the Fire Safety deliverables.
  • Ensure Fire safety expertise for platform and project (legal and normative requirements, material behaviour, etc.).
  • Assure the right strategy (standards, tests, simulations…) for covering Fire & Smoke requirements at the tender/design/manufacturing level.
  • Pilot/Assure the use of the database MARIE.
  • Apply RSC and Transport rules & processes within the Group.
  • Deploy processes, methodologies, simulations and available fire safety data management (ReX) and storage tools.
