b Overview /b p In this role you will contribute to the Derby railway dynamics team, working on lightweight VHS bogie development for HS2 and supporting rail platform projects and international monorail work. You will perform complex multi-body simulations and analyze dynamic responses of bogies, suspensions, and active systems. You’ll collaborate across functions to define technical requirements, manage risks, and drive R D in railway dynamics. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position shaping next‑gen high‑speed rail solutions. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li flexible benefits /li li life, medical, pension coverage /li li up to 52 weeks maternity/adoption pay /li li 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays /li li career development investment /li li equal opportunity employer /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Apply Railway Dynamics guidelines to Pre-Project, Project or R D tasks /li li perform system technical specification analysis and clause-by-clause reviews /li li conduct gap analyses between customer requirements and reference solutions /li li support definition of Railway Dynamics Management Plan and Technical Requirements Specification /li li identify missing data and inputs, and perform risk analysis /li li plan and manage tasks and budget across project phases including certification support /li li perform standard Railway Dynamics simulations for Pre-Project and Projects /li li contribute to Bogie Monitoring System (BMS) and Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) activities /li li lead and manage R D actions in simulation methodologies and resource management /li li provide support on ongoing projects and revenue service issues /li li report critical findings to the project team and support engineering leadership /li li assist in updating/creating Metier instructions and deployment of new processes/technologies /li li support for data-driven improvements and continuous REX in the domain /li li ensure alignment with Quality/Cost/Delivery targets /li li maintain liaison with system engineering and cross-functional teams /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Mechanical Engineering degree (MSc) or equivalent experience /li li extensive experience in railway dynamics in industry or R D /li li proficient with Multi-Body System tools (e.g., Simpack, VAMPIRE) /li li strong knowledge of mechanical vibrations and track-vehicle dynamics /li li experience with bogie suspension components and Finite Elements / System Engineering /li li modelling/control of active systems in Matlab/Simulink /li li experience with railway dynamics sensors (BMS, CBM) /li li familiarity with Railway Dynamics International Standards /li li advanced English (reading/writing/speaking) /li /ul ul li problem solving /li li cross-functional collaboration /li li communication /li li Simpack /li li VAMPIRE /li li Matlab/Simulink /li /ul
