The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 ÂŁ per month.
Join a world‑leading engineering company through a well‑established 51‑month Apprenticeship Development Programme. You will work alongside experienced professionals and receive strong support, mentoring and coaching while developing against the Apprenticeship Standard. The programme includes placements across multiple departments to build a broad understanding of the business. Your future role is a development role towards becoming a Technician, working with established technicians on Live and Dead trains to establish failure modes through extensive fault‑finding and rectification work. The apprenticeship combines academic college studies with real‑life work‑based experience across our organisation. Training will be carried out within the workplace at Siemens Mobility, and the remainder of the time is spent at work building and gathering evidence of your competence while working towards a formal qualification.
Responsibilities
- Attending all planned college requirements
- Completing all required college work on time and to standard
- Working in line with Alstom's Zero Deviation Policy
- Developing electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Developing electrical and mechanical rectification skills
- Following all established Alstom depot processes and procedures (e.g. Tool Control, 5S, Line of Route)
- There may be opportunities to be trained as a Depot Train Driver
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 GCSEs of Grade 4‑9, including Maths, English and a Science
- Good mechanical and electrical ability with an emphasis on precision and accuracy
- Self‑motivated and able to demonstrate commitment to achieving the apprenticeship standard
- Capable of acting as a member of a multi‑disciplined team with flexibility around team roles and able to work independently when required
- Driving licence desirable due to depot location
