Your future role
This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering company through a well-established 39 month (to include End Point Assessment) Apprenticeship Development Programme. You will work alongside experienced professionals and receive strong support, mentoring and coaching while developing against the Apprenticeship Standard. The programme includes placements across multiple departments to build a broad understanding of the business. Placements are planned to support your development and provide a varied, rewarding experience. As a Service Staff Apprentice with Alstom you will gain solid practical experience across a range of disciplines. Throughout apprenticeship, you will be working towards completing a Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification. You will combine the academic college studies with real life work based experience across our organisation. You will attend Derby college on block release to complete the academic side of the course whilst getting hands on experience and learning from the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Mechanical and Electrical Modifications on Existing Rolling Stock
- Carry out Assembling, Validating and Verifying of Components
- Carry out Electrical Testing and Verification
- Carry out Riveting, Bonding, Sealing, Torque Tightening, Crimping
- Carry out New Mechanical and Electrical Installations on Existing Rolling Stock
- Carry out Product Sale Preparation
- Carry out Vehicle Movements
- Understand and Execute EHS and Quality Requirements
Qualifications
You will need (or be predicted to have):
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s of Grade 4 - 9
- This should include Math’s, English and a Science
