As part of this expansion, we’re strengthening ourSupply Chain team and looking for passionate individuals who want to be part of something game-changing. Based within our overhaul programmes, this is your opportunity to join an ambitious team at the forefront of innovation in rail.We’re looking for a Material Planner to take charge of the end-to-end flow of materials; ensuring that everything needed for production is in the right place, at the right time, and in the right condition.
We\’ll look to you to:
- Communicate delivery needs to suppliers and ensure goods are available for Alstom UK projects.
- Monitor deliveries and supplier performance through KPIs (Key Performance Indicators); lead improvement actions where needed.
- Provide Supply Chain input during supplier selection and support capability assessments.
- Manage Purchase Requisitions and Material Planning documents for internal and external suppliers.
- Maintain accurate planning master data in line with stock and logistics constraints.
- Create and communicate Call-offs, Schedule Agreements, and Source Lists to suppliers; follow up on confirmations.
- Analyse supplier responses against project needs; identify risks and implement recovery plans.
Maintain regular communication with suppliers to track delivery status and resolve issues. - Manage MRP (Material Requirements Planning) exception messages and maintain delivery data in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Track missing parts, manage replacements for non-conformities, and resolve receiving issues (shortages, overstock, damage, documentation).
- Share delivery performance insights with stakeholders and support action plans for underperforming suppliers.
- Contribute to risk assessments, stock availability, and mitigation plans for new business.
- Apply APSYS (Alstom Performance System) standards and support EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives.
