Your future role

Responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repair and fault finding on Class 378 Electric Multiple Units. Take overall responsibility of vehicle repairs in line with vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI’s).

Undertake all types of maintenance rectification work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable, and defect free train. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control. Undertake ‘Designated Person’ safety responsibility for applying Depot Protection System and ensure safe systems of work methods are applied.

We’ll look to you for:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferable or equiavlent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical based industry (Rail, Aerospace, Military) or equivalent
  • Basic electrical awareness competence
  • Previous Experience in rolling stock
  • Proven experience in health and safety
  • Provide train systems engineering advice for the vehicle as a whole and for the key vehicle systems (such as TCMS – train control system, HVAC, propulsion, brakes, doors, on-train communications etc.)
