Your future role
As a Safety Engineer, you will be performing Railway/Product Safety activities and related deliverables in accordance with QCD commitments on Derby based projects/programs. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to support the Alstom Transport products performance by ensuring Safety requirements are identified upstream reflecting Alstom Safety policy and much more.
We’ll look to you for:
- Performing the Safety analyses they are in charge of, as per the applicable Safety instructions/processes and other specific requirements committed to the Customer.
- Addressing Customer/Independent parties (ISA, AsBo,…) comments to get approval on the Safety deliverables within the limits of Alstom Transport commitments.
- Contributing to the assessment of the Safety performance of the product and to the upstream identification of the necessary safety requirements to ensure the achievement of the Safety targets.
- Applying the Alstom Transport/Engineering rules & processes to their activities in particular those dedicated to Safety activities.
- Having a pro-active challenging view on the Safety data/results they handle to enhance the adequacy/consistency of the Safety studies and requirements.
- Seeking for the technical understanding of the Alstom Transport products in order to better assess their safety performance and potential areas of improvement.
- Adopting a product-oriented mindset in performing their studies to foster the capitalisation of the results of the studies towards the product Safety performance.
