Safety Assurance Manager

Your Future role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional who thrives on collaboration, leadership, and making a tangible impact within a safety-critical environment. You will work at the heart of product development, partnering with engineering, project delivery, and safety teams to ensure our products are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently. This is a home-based role with travel to Alstom offices in Hatfield and other UK sites as agreed with the Regional Centre Safety Manager. You will work closely with the Product Development Team while maintaining independent reporting into the Safety organisation through the RCSM.

We’ll look to you for:

• Leading safety assurance activities across Alstom's product portfolio, ensuring the consistent application of signalling safety processes and standards.
• Leading safety assurance activities across product development programmes and product modifications.
• Ensuring compliance with Alstom's Signalling Safety Instruction (SSI) and associated safety governance requirements.
• Producing and delivering safety documentation in line with project and product delivery plans.
• Working closely with Product Development Project Managers to monitor progress, identify risks, and escalate delivery concerns where required.
• Supporting project teams with the timely provision of safety evidence to support successful project commissioning.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Product Safety Assurance function.
• Managing product-related 8D problem-solving reports and supporting effective resolution of issues.
• Collaborating with Safety Assurance Managers, Engineers, and Product Development teams across multiple signalling product categories.
• Providing leadership, coaching, and support to members of the Product Safety Assurance team.
