Your future role
The Functional Lab Engineer contributes to Train Lab preparation and operation by securing TrainLab readiness including Hardware installation, integration and commissioning. They will prepare TrainLab configuration for test execution. They will also support test teams during test execution ensuring availability of the functional test means and execute train level functional test by delegation from Train Validation Engineer (TVE) when applicable.
We’ll look to you for:
- Ensure 100% compliance with EHS rules (in particular regarding activities performed on TrainLab and TestBench)
- Collect the inputs for Test means configurations and analyse their quality
- Define and generate applicable configurations for test means including:
- Train low-voltage (LV) schematics
- Train equipment models such as basic or advanced functional models
- Software in the Loop + Environmental Models
- Hardware in the Loop
- TCMS software and associated deliverables e.g., Interface Control Documents (ICD)
- Preparation of TrainLab: Subsystem hardware Integrations, Commissioning of uLab and guest cubicles, Network deployment with IS&T
- Generate the configurations for the functional Test means and verify coherence with TCR (Target Configuration Release) and Train Needs
- Perform specific investigations and measurements linked to TrainLab environment and contribute to continuous improvement of tools: LV modelling, equipment modelling, configuration tools
- Support the Test Engineers during test execution which may involve shift work (e.g., three 8-hour shifts) and provide analysis for the anomalies detected during test (Subsystem anomaly, TrainLab limitation, Configuration Issue, etc)
- Support Control Engineers and System Engineers during system commissioning and investigation activities
- Compile & sustain the standard documentation for configuration generation
- Support deployment and monitoring of Test means performance KPI
- Support the test engineer on report creation and Test Problem Reports analysis
