Alsop High School is the largest secondary school in the vibrant city of Liverpool, with 1500 students across Key Stage 3-5. We have been at the heart of the Walton community for over 100 years.

Successful applicants will work with small groups of pupils aged 11–15 to deliver structured reading interventions using the Lexonic Leap and Lexonic Advance programmes. Full training will be provided.

Mentors will:

• Deliver reading intervention sessions to groups of approximately 5–8 pupils

• Support pupils to improve reading fluency, confidence and comprehension

• Work closely with experienced colleagues leading reading intervention within the school

• Receive guidance, supervision and ongoing support throughout the role
