Overview
Senior Staff Network Engineering Manager, Planning and Design — London, UK; Dublin, Ireland. This role involves managing a team of Network Planners, Network Engineers, and Designers, driving direction and cross-functional alignment with partners and stakeholders, and ensuring execution and risk mitigation for plan publications.
Responsibilities
- Manage team of Network Planner, Network Engineers and Designers.
- Foster team empowerment, well-being, and development through coaching, feedback, and career conversations.
- Establish direction, strategy, and goals for the team, aligned with partners and stakeholders.
- Drive execution, mitigate risks, develop contingencies, etc.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across various disciplines for plan publications.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience with network design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
- 15 years of experience in network planning.
- 10 years of experience managing and building teams.
- Experience defining, planning and designing networks (Layer 1-3) across multiple sites and products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of Content Distribution Networks (CDN), Internet Protocol (IP) transit/peering, dark fiber, colocation, optical transport, cloud technologies and industry processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent projects from business, product and technical perspectives.
