The Role

We have an opportunity for a reliable individual to work as a Courier Van Driver based at our Wakefield site. You will collect water samples from customers and bring them back to site while maintaining accurate temperature checks to avoid instability in the samples. Candidates must have a clean driving record and an up-to-date driver's license and experience as a courier driver.

About the Position

  • Shift: 10 hours Shifts Monday to Thursday
  • Salary: £26,207
  • Location: Ossett, Wakefield
  • Contract: Permanent

The day to day

  • Driving in a safe and appropriate manner; always courteous to other road users and being a great ambassador to our brand and values.
  • Due to the nature of this work, you will need to ensure the temperature control of the vehicle's fridge is always maintained.
  • Developing and maintaining a courteous professional relationship with clients and staff at ALS sites.
  • Maintaining a degree of flexibility on collection runs to allow for additional requests and traffic delays.
  • Accurate completion of paperwork, recording van temperatures and sample consignments.
  • Daily checks, basic maintenance such as fluid top up and cleaning of the vehicle to be carried out.
  • Informing the Transport Manager of any client issues or other pertinent information.

The Essentials

  • A full clean driving license.
  • Good adherence to the rules of the road and demonstrate excellent driver behaviour standards.
  • Previous experience driving medium wheelbase vans.
  • Have a good working knowledge of UK road networks.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be flexible and reliable.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic & friendly disposition.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to act upon information given and use initiative.
