ALS Laboratories are looking for a Laboratory Media Technician to support their Microbiology department at ALS Sittingbourne. Laboratory Media Technicians require a good mix of skills. The person will be responsible for producing media to be used in the laboratories, ensuring product is readily available. The right candidate will have a keen eye for detail, and be able to closely follow instructions. This role would be a great starting point for somebody looking to begin their career in Life Sciences!
Role
- Days Per Week: 4 on/4 off 9am to 9pm
- Contract: Full Time and Permanent
- Salary:
The Day to Day
- To perform work allocated without deviation from the documented methodology and/or procedure whilst maintaining high levels of quality control.
- To perform daily quality control checks and calibrations.
- To notify laboratory management if any stocks require replenishing.
- Ensure that the media preparation areas are kept clean and tidy.
- To remove waste frequently and ensure it is disposed of in the correct manner.
- To ensure that all records are completed concisely and accurately with paperwork written in clear handwriting.
The Essentials
- GCSEs in scientific subject preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good organisational skills
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Motivation to work in a dynamic and client focused workplace
- General computer literacy skills
- Previous LIMS experience preferable
