Overall Objective

The Engineered Wood Products Designer will work closely with Alsford colleagues and production, coordinating work while working to strict deadlines and maintaining regular contact with customers.

The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a busy environment, with all manufacturing and cutting undertaken on site. The candidate will liaise regularly with production to ensure deadlines are met and processes run smoothly.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

• Complete design work assigned by the design manager/supervisor
• Prepare designs and quotations for customer submissions
• Prepare schedules and cutting lists for manufacturing
• Customer liaison
• Plan, set, and prioritize objectives; review progress to meet goals
• Deliver high-standard customer service
• Read and interpret architects\’ plans and sketches
• Ensure design accuracy and standards compliance
• Assist in training new employees when required
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
• Perform other reasonable duties within the scope of the role

Education/Qualifications/Experience

Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent. Preferably 3 years’ experience in designing engineered wood products like Ipro, JJI, Finnframe, GangNail, Mitek, Alpine, Wolf, or similar.
