You'll play a key role in delivering and collecting goods efficiently and safely, while representing our brand with professionalism and a can-do attitude. From loading and unloading to ensuring deliveries are spot on, you'll need a keen eye for detail, great communication skills, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Responsibilities- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of materials, particularly when using flatbed lorries.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others on the road.
Monday - Friday plus every other Saturday 42 hours per week
Experience- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience with flatbed lorries is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
