General Branch Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to run a branch as if it were your own business. You\’ll be responsible for driving sales, hitting budget and productivity targets, and delivering outstanding customer service, all while building lasting relationships with staff and customers alike.

What you\’ll be doing:

• Leading, coaching, and developing your team to achieve their full potential
• Delivering against KPIs and ensuring branch sales and budget targets are met
• Building strong, long-term relationships with trade and retail customers
• Overseeing stock management and ensuring products meet quality standards
• Monitoring performance and preparing reports to support forecasting and planning
• Keeping up to date with products, promotions, and new technologies
• Running regular team briefings to keep everyone engaged and informed
• Driving continuous improvements to boost productivity and customer experience
• Supporting branch and wider business projects to keep Alsford moving forward

What we\’re looking for:

• Proven experience in managing a branch, retail store, or builders\’ merchant (2–3 years minimum)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets
• A confident communicator with a proactive, \”can-do\” attitude
• Commercial awareness and a strong customer focus

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,420.00-£60,000.00 per year
