The Role

We have an opportunity for a reliable individual to work as a Courier Van Driver based at our Wakefield site. You will collect water samples from customers and bring them back to the site while maintaining accurate temperature checks to avoid instability in the samples. Candidates must have a clean driving record, an up‑to‑date driver’s licence, and experience as a courier driver.

About The Position

  • Shift: 10 hours, Monday to Thursday
  • Salary: £26,207
  • Location: Ossett, Wakefield
  • Contract: Permanent

Day to Day

  • Drive safely and courteously, acting as an ambassador for ALS.
  • Maintain the vehicle’s fridge temperature at all times.
  • Build a courteous professional relationship with clients and ALS staff.
  • Remain flexible to accommodate additional requests and traffic delays.
  • Complete paperwork accurately, recording van temperatures and sample consignments.
  • Perform daily checks, basic vehicle maintenance (fluid top‑ups, cleaning).
  • Report any client issues or other pertinent information to the Transport Manager.

Essentials

  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Good adherence to road rules and excellent driver behaviour.
  • Experience driving medium wheelbase vans.
  • Good working knowledge of UK road networks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible and reliable.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, enthusiastic & friendly disposition.
