The Role
We are seeking a reliable and punctual van driver to join our team at our ALS Trowbridge site. This role requires a responsible individual who can multitask effectively within a team-oriented environment. A clean driving record and a current driver’s license are essential.
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Days Per Week: Monday to Friday
- Contract: Full Time & Permanent
- Annual Salary: £11.72 / Hour
The day to day
- Collecting samples from client sites and ensuring timely delivery to the laboratory.
- Operating the vehicle safely and courteously, embodying our brand and values on the road.
- Maintaining temperature control of the vehicle's refrigeration as required.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients and site staff.
- Being flexible with routes to accommodate additional requests and delays.
- Completing paperwork accurately, including van temperature records and sample consignment logs.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance (such as fluid top-ups), and cleaning.
- Reporting any client concerns or relevant information to the Transport Manager.
The Essentials
- Strong adherence to road rules and excellent driving behaviour.
- Previous experience operating light goods vehicles.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation with a proactive and friendly attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Initiative and responsiveness to instructions.
- The ability to navigate independently, though navigation tools can be provided if needed.
