The Role
We are a leading life sciences company specialising in the analysis of metals and commodities. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our laboratory team as a Moisture Room Balance Operator. This is a hands-on role within our laboratory team, focusing on precise weighing and preparation of samples for further analysis. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, safety and teamwork are essential.
About The Position
Shift: 6am-2pm
Contract: Full-time, permanent position
Salary: Competitive, with opportunities for progression
The day to day
- Preparing and handling samples through careful mixing, blending, and dipping techniques
- Operating, maintaining and calibrating high-precision analytical moisture analysis equipment
- Interpreting moisture results to support accurate laboratory reporting
- Replenishing materials and ensuring smooth workflow across the team
- Organising, storing, and distributing samples throughout the lab as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in line with company standards
The Essentials
- A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and progress
- Great organisational and communication skills and a methodical approach to tasks
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused
- Previous lab experience essential
- Science qualification ideal but not essential, A-levels or GCSEs as a minimum
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is essential
- Experience using a LIMS-based system would be ideal
- Experience of using, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment would be ideal
