The Role
ALS Laboratories is excited to welcome Laboratory Technicians to join our friendly team in Chatteris. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern food laboratory where your work directly supports food safety and quality.
In this varied role, you’ll test a wide range of food products and ingredients using different analytical techniques, while also lending a hand to our sample receipt team when needed. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys following clear processes and takes pride in delivering accurate, reliable results.

About The Position
Shifts Available
- Monday to Friday: 1.30pm to 10pm
- Monday to Friday: 11am to 7.30pm
Rolling two-week shift pattern (Sunday–Thursday)
- Week 1: Sun 9am to 6pm, Mon to Thurs 9am to 5pm
- Week 2: Sun 9am to 6pm, Mon to Thurs 2.30pm to 11pm
Rolling two-week shift pattern (Saturday + Tuesday–Friday)
- Week 1: Sat 9am to 7.30pm, Tue to Fri 11am to 8pm
- Week 2: Sat 9am to 7.30pm, Tue to Fri 2.30pm to 11pm
Contract: Full time, permanent
Annual Salary: £25,834 per annum
The Day to Day
- Play a key role in ensuring the safety and quality of food by carrying out laboratory testing using approved methods.
- Contribute to a smooth and efficient lab environment supporting consistent results.
- Help maintain high standards by completing daily quality checks and calibrating equipment with care and attention.
- Take pride in keeping your workspace clean, organised, and safe for everyone.
- Support a positive safety culture by following Quality Management and Health & Safety practices at all times.
- Keep clear and accurate records so results are reliable, traceable, and ready to support team decisions.
