We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join our team at ALS Coventry. This is a key role within a busy central distribution centre that supports multiple ALS laboratory sites across the UK. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play an integral part in ensuring laboratories receive the supplies they need for their day-to-day operations, maintaining accurate stock levels, and handling incoming deliveries efficiently and safely.
The Day to Day:
- Accurately picking requested items and allocating them to the correct end user
- Receiving supplier deliveries, including unpacking, checking against delivery notes, labelling and placing stock in the correct locations on the day of receipt
- Recording goods received and filing or archiving delivery documentation appropriately
- Recording batch numbers where required and segregating stock for Quality Department use or specific projects
- Assisting with stock counts at intervals set by the Warehouse Manager
- Maintaining clean and tidy warehouse and loading bay areas at all times
- Complying with all health and safety requirements
The Essentials:
- Ability and motivation to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills, including Excel and Word (experience with OrderWise ERP is desirable but not essential as training will be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work on your own initiative
- A hands-on approach to manual tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to accurately follow written procedures and verbal instructions
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Ambition to develop yourself and learn new skills
- Counterbalance forklift truck licence up to 1.4 tonnes (desirable)
