The Day to Day:
- Conducting technical reviews of NCW and AQC investigations.
- Reviewing method control charts and approving any required limit changes.
- Carrying out technical evaluations of PT performance.
- Reviewing analysts’ ongoing competence monitoring and CPD records.
- Approving Annual Method Reviews and quality documentation, including Operating Procedures, Methods, and supporting materials.
- Authorising test reports for Chemistry.
- Working collaboratively across Chemistry teams to resolve technical issues and uphold the highest standards of analytical performance.
Capabilities:
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Strong influencing skills and the confidence to challenge and guide where needed.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.
- The ability to work effectively across teams and engage with key stakeholders including the Quality Manager, Chemistry Operations Manager, Chemistry Principal Scientist, Team Leaders, Senior Analysts, and Analysts.
- Strong critical evaluation skills, with the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from scientific data.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Detailed technical knowledge of Chemistry quality systems.
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in a technical Chemistry role.
- Extensive experience with PT, AQC charts and investigations, NCW investigations, and staff competency assessment.
- Experience working with ISO 17025 accreditation, as well as MCERTS, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
- Established RSB Chartership and CPD, where required, or willingness to work toward Chartered Chemist status within a reasonable timeframe.
